Swiss Indoors ATP 500 – A Look at the History

The Swiss Indoors Basel were founded in 1970 by Roger Brennwald and have grown from a small tournament in an inflatable hall into one of the most prestigious indoor events in the world. Since moving to the St. Jakobshalle in 1975, the event has become a staple of the ATP Tour. In 2009, the tournament was elevated to the ATP 500 category, further cementing its international significance. With over 60,000 spectators annually, it is one of the largest sporting events in Switzerland.
