Artistic profile

Max Raabe, born in 1962 in Lünen, is a unique artist known for his distinctive baritone voice and dry humor. In 1986, he founded the Palast Orchester with fellow students from the Berlin University of the Arts, bringing the glamorous music of the 1920s and 1930s to life with passion and precision.

With hits like "Kein Schwein ruft mich an," Max Raabe combines nostalgic charm with timeless elegance. The ensemble also offers original compositions and surprising reinterpretations, creating a blend that appeals to all generations.

From New York to Tokyo, and from the Elbphilharmonie to Carnegie Hall, Max Raabe & Palast Orchester deliver top-tier entertainment, mixing wit, class, and unforgettable melodies.

The tour

Max Raabe has a soft spot for animals, humorously expressed in his song "Hummel." He dreams of a world where he hides cookies in kangaroo pouches, fells trees with beavers, and enjoys life’s small pleasures. Everyday topics like autocorrect ("Nochmal von vorn"), cycling, and missed moments also make their way into his lyrics.

The concert program "Hummel streicheln" combines this animal humor with popular "Raabe-Pop" hits and timeless classics from the 1920s and 1930s, including "Heute Nacht oder nie" and "Wenn die Elisabeth." With his unique charm and quirky humor, Max Raabe leads the evening, allowing the audience to relax and enjoy.

Check out Max Raabe & Palast Orchester’s social media for fun video clips of "Hummel" in the coming weeks.
